Need Help with Itunes

Is there a way to restore the default settings on ITunes. I have version 12.3 by the way. I tried to import a music CD just now and after the process was completed I got a message that says that nothing imported met the rules to be displayed in the "Recently Added" playlist. I take responsibility for this as I fooled aroung with the rules for smart playlists and obviously fouled it up. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Tom

iTunes is extensive. Not blowing my own horn mind, but maybe read this board as well.
Here's some iTunes help.
To directly link to this page, use:

You'll also find lots of information by searching these bords about iTunes.
I'll answer your direct question in the next post.
You don't need to reset iTunes.

iTunes has a place for changing things as you know.
Press your alt key.
Arrow once right to Edit.
Press your down arrow until you get to Preferences.
Stay on General and go down to the CD section that talks about CD’s and make your selection.
Arrow to okay.
If you insist on resetting iTunes, you must remove it from your computer and everything else that is Apple related under your control panel and add/remove programs.
Next you must go to program files and remove the iTunes folder.
You can try removing everything from your add/remove and then reinstalling it, but if that doesn’t clean it completely, you’ll need to get to the folder as well in program files to make it all fresh.

I forgot.
You have a folder called iTunes in your music.
If you are installing completely fresh, you'll want to delete that too.
Note, when you do all I suggest, it will be as if you never had it with the acception of anything you purchased from iTunes.
These will be in your iCloud, so if you want them on your computer, you must download it all again.
